Don't go to your regular club fitter. Get a putter fitting with a putting expert!

So many golfers are now beginning to understand the importance of their having their equipment custom fitted to suit their needs and technique. When it comes to a putter this should be no different.

A putter custom fitting session with me will go into intricate detail to find the EXACT specifications best suited to you. Whether you need a brand new putter or simply need adjustments to your current one, I can help. With a great understanding of the technical side of putting and my  knowledge of putter technology and building, no putter fitting shall be more thorough. In my opinion, having this expert knowledge is extremely important when being fit for a putter.

If it's a brand new putter you're after, I have carefully selected the following three brands to work closely alongside, as I truly believe they are the best available on the market today. Whether it be quality of build, advanced technology or attention to detail, there is nothing better out there. Not only that, each brand has something slightly different to offer compared to the next. I have demo models available in each, all with differing specifications for fitting purposes. Click the logos below for more info on each brand.

The following are all parts of a putter that should be customised to suit a golfers technique and tendencies.

  • Head Shape - This is mostly personal preference, which shape / style of head brings you the most confidence when you look down. Also, does a certain style help you align better for your putts.

  • Length - The standard 35 inch putter isn't correct for most golfers. The correct length will help you achieve a consistently correct set up.

  • Lie Angle - Not all golfers set up the same. If we set up with the heel or toe in air it effects our aim and ability to strike the face consistently

  • Loft - One of the most important factors for good putting is to produce a consistent roll. The loft on our putter is the biggest contributor to the launch angle of a putt. In my opinion the vast majority of putters are too lofted. Is yours?

  • Grip - The grip must be specific to a golfers hand shape, size and preferred method of holding the putter. Different shapes and sizes may fit better to a golfers hands, help with consistency and provide different feel.

  • Toe Hang - One golfer may have a greater amount of face rotation in their stroke when compared to the next. Make sure the putter is working for your stroke. The correct toe hang can also help eliminate miss tendencies.

  • Total Weight - Is your stroke suited to a lighter or heavier putter? For many golfers, a slightly heavier putter can be easier to control and helps them produce a more consistent motion.

  • Swing Weight - Different to the overall weight of the putter, how do you prefer the balance of the putter to feel. Does more weight in the grip or in the head make you feel more in control and produce a more consistent stroke.

Using the QUINTIC BALL ROLL alongside other specialist software, I will help you gain an understanding of all the above factors and make recommendations on putter specifications based on your stroke consistencies and tendencies. Also within the session, I like to discuss with golfers when undesirable data might be a result of technique, with the goal of improving their understanding within this area. I believe my knowledge and experience of specialising in putting is what sets me apart from so many other fitters. At the end of each session, I hope each golfer has a great understanding of their technical goals, as well as the knowledge of specifications to suit their stroke.
