A putter fitting is far more than matching an arcing stroke to toe hang, or simply choosing between a blade and a mallet. Those labels can be useful starting points, but they are only a small part of the picture. How a putter performs for an individual golfer is influenced by several interacting factors: how they aim it, how the face rotates, where they strike the ball, how they control pace, and how they respond to the head’s shape, balance geometry, weight and overall feel. Shaft and hosel position, centre-of-mass location, head design, moment of inertia, length, lie, loft and grip can all affect the way a player perceives and delivers the putter.
During a fitting, I use SAM Puttlab to assess your individual tendencies, then test different designs and specifications to see how you respond. Two golfers with similar looking strokes can perform very differently with the same putter.
As a Scotty Cameron Showcase Centre, I carry an extensive range of Scotty Cameron models and fitting options, alongside demo putters from other leading brands. The objective is to find the best all-round match for your aim, face control, strike, pace and confidence—then make that decision based on evidence rather than guesswork.
